Beginning from a precise dramaturgical reference - Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" - and in particular the analysis of the comedy written by Harold Bloom and Jan Kott, our work investigates the relationship between dreams and reality or - more specifically - the possibility of living a dream as an experience of reality, concretely living out "fantasy" as truth. The interpretation of these texts led to the awareness that in the moment in which it is lived out as a moment of reality, a dream will allow us to perceive the veracity of people, their gestures, and their actions. In the course of the creation the necessity to flank the textual reference with a musical reference became apparent. Thus Pergolesi's Mass for Five Voice was introduced; because dreams, just as prayers do, lead to transcendence, to a faroff space and time, which once reached become contemporary and real. The expressive force of Pergolesi's music, reelaborated in an original musical dramaturgy, fully renders the direct relationship between body, action, and meaning. The action and the movement of the performer become part of a musical score, made up of sounds and silences through which one "transcends" to give back to the spectator the veracity of the actions and the authentic force of the bodies. The spectator reads/watches an action which evokes the signs of a fantasy world, but which at the same time is concretely taking place. The ambitious objective is to bring the spectator to wonder, for a second, if he or she dreamed of reality of truly lived through a dream.
